p_williamson_1.jpg    Peter Williamson recently was guest speaker at the Launch of MyGroupNi, a major Government sponsored Digital Inclusion Pilot Initiative to assist 2500 ‘community based’ groups across Northern Ireland to get on-line.

Peter was specifically speaking about the potential for using the facility in supporting ‘Education for Employability’ initiatives and how combined with www.adream.tv , a schools initiative (in which Amicus are involved), there is the opportunity for real and beneficial ‘joined up’ thinking.

Peter also spoke about the ‘Amicus Careers Mall’ initiative that will be rolled out to schools across Northern Ireland and how the ‘Portal approach’ which is also being used in the MyGroupNi initiative has unlimited potential

Adream.tv : Amicus have been heavily involved in this Northern Ireland Schools’ initiative from the beginning. At the official launch in November 2003, attended by 1600 people including 1000 school children, Amicus had a significant member presence in support on the day.

Post Launch, Amicus have sponsored 100 school ‘mini sites’ and are instrumental in developing the ‘Interactive Careers Mall’ element of Adream.tv.  Although in pilot phase, this initiative has huge potential.

MyGroupNI : Amicus in Northern Ireland are also supporting the initiative and are working with the MyGroupNi team to explore a range of opportunities for mutual benefit.
