Seagate Young Innovators is the largest event of its kind in the United Kingdom and gives pupils the opportunity to progress to compete in National, European and International competitions.  The aims of the event are:

       to raise awareness of science, engineering and technology through innovative project work with an industrial relevance, while encouraging schools to develop links with business and industry through specific collaborative ventures;

       encourage young people with good scientific and technical ideas to adopt an entrepreneurial approach in turning ideas into reality;

       give young people the opportunity to demonstrate their creativity and ingenuity through problem solving activities with a view to displaying them as examples of best practice in Northern Ireland schools.

Seagate Young Innovators is now regarded by SETNET as a model for development of other collaborative events of this nature throughout the United Kingdom .
