LISBURN – What’s In It For You?
LISBURN COMMUNITY NETWORK HELD THEIR SHOWCASE EVENT in The Island Hall,

The Event showcased 44 organisations working for the community in Lisburn and was attended by approximately 150 people, including Lisburn’s Mayor and Councillors. Exhibitors included: Lisburn Community Network Member Groups; Funding and Financial Support Bodies; Training and Development Agencies; Advice and Support Organisations; and Lisburn City Council Departments.
When asked about Networking Opportunities, these are just some of the comments Exhibitors said “excellent … an invaluable event for networking with organisations in our area … opportunity to network with other Social Economy businesses … great selection of organisations … good to see what Lisburn has to offer … strong opportunity to liaise with other organisations … very beneficial … certainly raised our profile and introduced our services to quite a few new clients … excellent opportunity to share good practice and develop mechanisms that promote working partnerships”. All Exhibitors said they would attend a similar Event in the future.
Lisburn Community Network supports nearly 170 voluntary and community groups in the Greater Lisburn Area. Member groups include: family and children support groups; sports and arts groups; cultural groups; community development groups; and residents associations. The Member Groups work closely with other agencies to ensure the best possible advice, support, services and activities are available to the local community within the Greater Lisburn Area.
Lisburn Community Network and the Showcase Event have received financial assistance from Lisburn City Council, the Central Community Relations Unit (OFMDFM) and the Department of Social Development.
